About the Role
We are seeking a Working Foreman to join our team! We are a General Contractor specializing in apartment unit renovations. As our Working Foreman, you must have overall rough and finishing skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, texture, paint, cabinet installation with an eye for detail and willing to perform work when necessary. The duties include overseeing the daily operations, schedule subcontractors, crews and ensure the quality of work performance, ascertain all adhere to safety regulations. Plan, implement and manage the construction schedule in accordance with project deadlines and budget.
You must also be reliable, trustworthy with excellent communication, organization and have very strong computer skills. This is a very high energy, fast pace environment that requires an extremely detailed-oriented and efficient individual that is fluent in both Spanish and English(required). The majority of our work is concentrated in Alameda/Contra Costa Counties and San Francisco Bay Area
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee, schedule, and arrange crew work on a daily basis, cooperating with other team members as necessary
• Review all project activities, work equipment, and sites every day to make sure everything is performed to company standards as well as to the latest OSHA regulations and standards
• Work with subs, vendors, client, and HBB team to ensure all site and crew activities are in sync
• Delegate crew members to jobs based on their capabilities and the general requirements of specific tasks
• Meet with managers/supervisors and necessary personnel as required in order to fully resolve conflicts,
complications, and other issues according to company and client standards/requirements
• Do initial job walks to verify scope, do take offs and material list
• Must be able to read blue prints, create kitchen layouts
• Walk jobs to create punch list, perform/assign punch items, do final walk
• Coordinate with Superintendents to schedule laborers
• Meet with City Inspectors for site inspections
• Work closely with Project Coordinators/Office to review schedule, job status
• Support Superintendents and field team as needed
• Use ipad to document work performed, RFIs, COs, POs, Material List, photos, etc.
• Perform necessary trade work along crews, as well as teach and correct employees
• Work only within the allowed timeframe assigned by the Client (O/T must be pre-approved)
• Pick up/deliver materials when necessary
Job Qualifications:
• Five years’ experience in supervisory/foreman position managing and overseeing residential/apartment
construction projects
• Able to give direction and make decisions related to finances, the company’s reputation, and crew members
• Must be able to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and create kitchen layouts
• Able to work in high-stress conditions and quickly changing environments
• Self-starter with excellent communication, organization and leadership skills
• Ability to multi-task and do what is needed to complete the job within the given contracted time frame
• Positive attitude, willing to work with others, give a helping hand
• Proactive communication with Supervisors, office and field team
• Strong computer experience, word, excel, google (all work must be done on an Ipad)
• Good physical condition and stamina, able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Have your own tools
• Hang sheetrock, tape, mud, texture and paint
• Remodel kitchen and bathrooms, install cabinets and appliances
• Install flooring (tile, laminate, baseboard), install doors, trim, finishes
• Perform minimal electrical and plumbing (outlet/light connections, hookup p-traps and faucets)
• Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish is required
• Reliable transportation
Compensation:
• $72,800 - $83,000 annual salary
• 401k plan after 1 year w/ up to 4% Employer match
