About the Role

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating with our field teams and office staff to source, purchase and delivery of materials to our multiple active projects. Additionally, this position is responsible for overseeing the warehouse and scheduling the daily deliveries and debris collection. This position requires an excellent multi-tasker with exceptional organizational and document tracking skills for a fastpaced construction company serving San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Spanish. Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities for the Purchasing Specialist

• Order materials online, process purchase orders, work orders, packing slips

• Track all expenses on spreadsheet and Builder-trend

• Schedule the drivers for pick-ups, deliveries and hauling debris

• Coordinate with Superintendents and team to schedule deliveries and hauling

• Attend weekly project meetings, provide weekly status of job orders/delays

• Make certain returns are processed timely to capture refunds and credits

• Track material expenses for change orders and report cost to project coordinator

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers

• Work closely with vendors and project coordinators to ensure that we are capturing all discounts, rebates and are overall getting the most competitive pricing considering our purchasing volume

• Oversee warehouse inventory, stocking material, restocking excess material, resourcing inventory
to maximize material cost savings.

Qualifications for Purchasing Specialist

• Experience working in procurement (warehouse, inventory, purchasing, construction)

• Working knowledge of the construction industry and familiarity with building material

• Excellent computer skills (mac computers, google, spreadsheets, reading take-off plans)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational and documentation skills

• Fluent in both English and Spanish speaking is required

Compensation

• Pay Range = $48,000-$58,000 DOE

• 8 Holidays + 9 Sick Days after 90 days

• 1 week vacation after 1 year of employment

• 401K after 1 year with up to 4% Employer match
